Anchorworth ("we", "our", or "us") operates Net Worth Journal, a privacy-first wealth tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

We collect only the information necessary to provide our service:

• Email address: Used for account authentication via magic link login and optional email reminders.
• Financial data you enter: Account names, balances, property values, dividends, and other financial information you manually input. We never connect to your bank accounts or access your actual financial institutions.
• Preferences: Your chosen base currency and reminder settings.

How We Store Your Data

Your data is stored securely:

• Database: We use PostgreSQL hosted on Neon, a secure cloud database provider. All data is encrypted at rest.
• Hosting: Our application is hosted on Vercel with enterprise-grade security and automatic HTTPS encryption.
• No local storage: We do not store sensitive financial data in your browser's local storage.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie (nw_user) to maintain your login session. This cookie is HTTP-only, secure, and expires after one year of inactivity. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies that track you across websites.

Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of trusted third-party services:

• Resend: For sending authentication emails and optional reminder emails. They only receive your email address.
• Vercel: For hosting and serving the application. They process requests but do not access your financial data.
• Vercel Analytics: For anonymous, privacy-focused page view analytics. No personal data is collected.
• Sentry: For error monitoring to help us fix bugs. Error reports may include technical information but not your financial data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your financial information is never shared with anyone. We only share data with the service providers listed above, solely to operate our service.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Export: You can export all your data at any time in CSV or PDF format from your account menu.
• Delete: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from account settings. This action is immediate and irreversible.
• Access: All your data is visible to you in the application at all times.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted immediately. We do not keep backups of deleted user data.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure HTTP-only cookies, rate limiting on authentication endpoints, and regular security updates. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
